Grok Bot cheat sheet
The version that actually does the work.
Grok · the chat
Smart intern at your desk. You ask. It answers. It waits. Stops when you close the tab.
Grok Bot · the coworker
Named teammate. Own computer that stays on. Clicks websites like a person. Pings you if stuck.
ChatGPT is a really smart intern sitting at your desk, waiting for the next question. Grok Bot is that intern plus a locked office, a computer that never sleeps, and a key to the websites you already use. You text a job. They do it. They ping you if they get stuck.
A starter team
- Inbox Pat. Triages email, drafts replies, never hits send without you.
- Scout. Researches a purchase or a trip and comes back with a one-pager.
- Errand Bot. Compares prices, fills carts, and stops before checkout.
- Chief. Assigns work to the others and gives you a morning briefing.
First hour
- 1. Download the Grok Bot app.
- 2. Create one Bot with a sentence.
- 3. Give access only when it asks.
- 4. Give one real, small job.
- 5. Go do something else.
- 6. Read what it brought back.
Never without you
- Don’t send money. Carts are fine. Checkout is yours. If a site asks to pay, the Bot should freeze and text you.
- Don’t hit send on an angry email. Drafts are cheap. Sent is forever. Keep a rule: nothing leaves without your okay.
- Don’t share passwords it shouldn’t have. First login and 2FA are you helping a new hire onto a site — you tap “yes” on your phone. Never paste a password into the chat.
Copy-paste first prompts
- 1. Clean up my messy downloads folder. Keep the important stuff. Make a short list of what you moved. Don’t delete anything you’re unsure about — ask me.
- 2. Find 3 quiet Airbnbs near Portland, Maine under $180 a night for Oct 10–13. Shortlist with links and a one-line “why.” Don’t book.
- 3. Watch my inbox for invoices this week. Log amount, sender, and due date. Draft chases for the late ones in my voice. Don’t send.
- 4. Read what’s happening on X about heat pumps in Maine this week. Give me 7 bullets. Skip the yelling.
- 5. Walk through booking this appointment site. Fill the forms. Stop before I confirm.
- 6. Learn how I reorder coffee from this store once. Then do the same steps monthly. Fill the cart. Don’t pay until I say yes.
- 7. Compare these three (I’ll paste links). Pick a winner under $900. Add it to the cart. Don’t check out.
- 8. Give me a 5-bullet morning briefing: what’s on my calendar, anything waiting on me, and one thing I can ignore.
